If you do happen to have dirt or grease covering your popcorn ceilings, one of the easiest methods for removing them involves using an old toothbrush, a can of compressed air and a razor blade. Simply lay down on the surface to be removed, and begin brushing in a sweeping motion, taking care to avoid hitting the surface directly. Once you have removed all of the loose debris, press your blade against the side of the textured surface to cut out the remaining scratch. Although this method can work to remove just about every type of scratch, it is important to remember that it is not meant for removing extremely deep scratches, as they may be too large to be repaired using this method. For this type of repair, we recommend hiring a professional to complete the task.
