Why should I call a locksmith?

Is there a difference between changing a lock and rekeying a lock?
Yes. Changing a lock involves swapping all of the old hardware with new hardware whereas rekeying a lock involves keeping the same lock hardware but replacing the parts inside of the lock so that a differently cut key will work and the old keys will not.
Why do I have to wiggle my keys in the lock to get the door to open?
This issue occurs most often when a poorly cut duplicate key is being used. You should never made a copy of a badly cut duplicate key as this will only cause your situation to repeat itself. In most situations, we can help solve this issue by cutting a new key that is made exactly as it was by the manufacturer when you first purchased it.
