We proudly announce that Trey Wheeler has been elevated to The American Institute of Architects College of Fellows! n nThis is among the highest awards given by AIA, and only 3% of architects achieve this incredible honor. Trey has been recognized for leading the Institute through persistent advocacy, shaping policy and statute, and teaching others to work effectively to create change. Trey has completed two terms as AIA Tennessee President and served as AIA TN’s Government Advocacy Committee Chair for 11 consecutive years. For nearly a decade, Trey has worked to protect Tennessee’s historic structures in a manner that promotes our profession and considers the needs of all parties involved. His work with AIA National on AIA’s P3 Position Papers, speaking engagements and leadership at New Mexico’s Advocacy Day, and presentations at “Speak Up” in Washington D.C. are a few examples of Trey’s involvement with AIA National as a dedicated and passionate voice for our profession.n nThe AIA Chattanooga Executive Board voted to host a celebration for Trey with its membership. Chattanooga’s architectural community has played an incredible role in Trey’s story. Collectively, our efforts have made a remarkable impact, and we are incredibly excited to gather as a city.
