Ecowarm Radiant Heating is a cool product we have recently been installing in some of our new homes and remodels. Ecowarm is a radiant floor heating that runs over the sub floor and beneath the flooring. There are several benefits to having radiant heat in a home, especially if the home is large. This type of heating helps keep heating costs down but also keeps the home (and toes) warm throughout. Ecowarm Radiant Heating comes with pre-cut grooves in the plywood. These grooves allow Pex tubing to be placed into the plywood grooves. These grooves are covered with aluminum which, in turn, helps conduct heat. Pex transmits hot water which flows throughout the tubes under the floor! This then runs from the manifolds to the boiler. Manifolds are tucked away in walls or closets, out of sight. The boiler we used in this home is gas powered and super-efficient. Both the radiant heating and hot water run off this boiler. This was a good solution: to combine the two which helps to ensure convenience and efficiency. When you look at the outlet and inlet temperature on the boiler, it is only about a two-degree difference, which demonstrates the efficiency of this system and that it keeps heat loss to a minimum- how cool and green is that? So, the obvious benefits are warmth on your feet and heating throughout your home. But another benefit is that you can control the heat with different zones throughout the home.
