Opening for Mechanical Engineer, PEnnCheatham and Associates, PA located in the coastal community of Wilmington, NC is seeking a registered ME for HVAC design. The design projects will be for K-12 Schools, Higher Education Schools, Municipal Buildings, Office Buildings. etc.. This position is hands on, from collaborating at schematic phase, assisting the client through design and bidding, observing the project’s construction to project completion and final closeout. Salary based on experience.nnResponsibilities:nnDesign new or upgrading/replacing existing HVAC systems.nEstablish project scope and project fees.nProvide design calculations for sizing equipment, ductwork, and ventilation, etc.nDesign and prepare HVAC drawings and specifications.nProvide submittal review for HVAC equipment.nProvide site observations during the design and installation of HVAC systems and components and support the startup, testing, and balancing (TAB) activities.nRespond to Request for Information (RFIs) that arise during construction.n nQualifications:nnBS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering under an ABET accredited engineering curriculum.n5 + years’ experience in HVAC design.nKnowledgeable of international codes, and state building codes and standardsnWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.nHold a Professional Engineer license.nExperience with Autodesk Design Software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM)nExperience with Bluebeam Revu, Trane 3D...
