Experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanicn nBarber Brothers Contracting Co., LLC, a road construction contractor located in Baton Rouge, LA, is seeking an Experienced Heavy Highway Equipment Mechanic. This great position is with an established company and provides an opportunity for the right candidate to positively impact the company’s operations. n nThe ideal candidate will have a passion for our industry and have spent several years working with equipment and trucks in the heavy highway industry. It is important that the candidate have knowledge on the routine service requirements of a variety of heavy equipment.n nThe main duty of the Equipment Mechanic position is to service and repair the equipment and trucks used in Heavy Highway Construction Operations. The position requires consistent incorporation the company’s safety initiatives into daily tasks.n nOther duties include:nDiagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures.nRepairing and maintaining diesel and gasoline engines.nAdjusting and repairing ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic and steering systems.nMaintaining and repairing chassis, frames and bodies.nWorking with hoisting and jacking equipment, power tools, measuring instruments, gauges and meters.nLubricating equipment.nMaintain and repair tires, batteries, brakes and valves.nRepair and replace worn parts such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, bushings, etc.nContribute to daily shop functions such as maintenance scheduling and spare parts inventory control.nEstimate of material, labor, and equipment requirements.nExercise safe working practices including use of required PPE at all times.nMaintain a clean and safe work area.n nQualifications:nFive plus years of Heavy Highway Experience.nHigh School Diploma/GED.nMust possess and maintain a current driver’s license.nSuccessful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.n nEmployee Benefit package includes medical, dental, vision, Life and, 401K, Compensation is DOE.n nBarber Brothers Contracting Co., LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer...
