Welcome to our first Design Case Study! Let’s dive in…nn 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝟏.𝟎 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧/𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲nnWith one client coming from Meridian Kessler and the other already a Zionsville suburbanite, our goal was to blend this fun couple’s aesthetics: modern/edgy and farmhouse/feminine, while also infusing detailed finishes and custom touches.nnWe decided to refresh the kitchen instead of completely starting over. From a sustainability perspective, it’s so satisfying to save cabinetry, and with these being white, it was an easy decision. We did however demo the island which was undersized for this busy family that cooks and gathers for meals. We enlarged the island to seat 5 comfortably and incorporated a drawer style microwave which freed up wall space to add a new double oven.nnThe X design on the island, the iridescent backsplash and champagne brass cabinet hardware was our nod toward the farmhouse feminine. The honed black countertop and black faucet with a brass knurled finish was the wink to our modern/edgy client.nnLet’s talk about these barstools! Colorful, vibrant and fun; the same three words that describe this couple’s personalities.nnWe dubbed the adjacent space as The Party Pantry. This once unused “Mom Desk” area has found new purpose! Here we house all things beverage- both an alcohol bar and the coffee station. Check out the amazing tile.nnAnd that’s the kitchen/Pantry! Stay tuned to next week when we share the family room!
