Little Signs. ⌛This past weekend I spent a bunch of time finishing my winter garden prep check list. I saw some spring bulbs just beginning to peek up above the soil. The snowdrops had come up a long time ago too. ⌛Then, yesterday afternoon, I came back home and wowzers! It seems like overnight a few of my helleborus and narcicuss busted out and started blooming. I haven't planted many bulbs over the years because typically the deer and javelinas just decimate what came up. But now that our property is all fenced in I've begun adding some bulbs. And I'm so happy I did. Two of my hummingbirds are back and feasting at my feeder. Big smiles over here. I'm planning on adding a few more hellebores that are a bit more exotic - they don't ship for a few weeks, but I'll get them in ground right away and look forward to next spring! ⌛And, today, we've had snow and fog and gloom, sigh. So, winter is going to hang around for a bit longer but I'm going to head out to check on all the blooms in a minute. 👉🏼Narcissus, of course, is also called daffodil.
