For stamped concrete, it is a 3 step process. The first day the prepping and forming is done and generally the concrete is poured that day as well, depending on the size of the job. The second day, one of our technicians will be back to place saw cuts, powerwash and clean up. At this point, the finish will look dull and faded. The third day, one of our technicians will be back to apply a coat of cure and seal. At this point the job is complete and all colors will come out and have its final look.

Stamped concrete can be slippery after it is sealed if you do not take precautions to prevent this. To prevent this, we use an additive called sure grip that is mixed with the sealer before applying it to give a non-skid finish. There are also sealers that leave a matte finish that do not leave the stamped concrete slippery.

With stamped and colored concrete, there is some maintenance. After initial installation, the surface is sealed with a cure and seal sealer to allow for concrete to finish curing and prevent moisture from being trapped below the sealer surface. You may get 1-2 seasons with this application. After that, your stamped or colored concrete will need to be resealed. This is something that will need to be done periodically (approx. 3-5 years) to maintain color and keep concrete looking new again, This is also a service we offer to our customers. Broom finish concrete with no color does not require any maintenance.

Once the sealer has dried, you can begin walking on your stamped concrete. For broom finish jobs, you can walk on it the next day after it is poured. Driveways cannot be driven on for 7 days.

We will use stone as a base when the job indicates a need for it. Not all jobs will require a stone base. The ground is compacted with a commercial tamper prior to any concrete being poured. This is the most important part of having a sufficient base.
