For double hung windows, Unlock the sash locks. Raise the lower sash at least 2 or 3 inches. Release both tilt latches and pull the top of the sash toward you. To tilt in the top sash (not applicable to single hung windows), first tilt in the lower sash, then repeat steps 2 and 3 for the top sash. If you have trouble getting the sash back down or up then the Pivot bar on the sash is not properly placed inside the frame shoe. Try tilting the sashes back down and take it out of frame by holding the sash at a 90-degree angle from the frame and lifting directly upward. Return it to the frame making sure that the metal pivot bars on the corners are fully engaged in the frame shoe. To operate tilt-in sliders*: Unlock the sash locks. Slide the inner sash toward the center. Lift the sash up, removing the bottom first, and bring into the house for cleaning. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the outside panel. To remove lift-out slider sashes: Unlock the sash locks. Slide the inner sash toward the center. Lift the sash up, removing the bottom first, and bring into the house for cleaning.
