Tampa developer building modern, luxury townhomes in Providence golf community Tampa developer FID Capital Group is breaking the mold in Davenport's Providence golf community with new modern Golf Club Villa townhomes. The 101unit townhouse community is adjacent to the community's clubhouse, and more than half of the units will have unobstructed views of the first and 18th hole of the Davenport golf course. FID Vice President Baillie Zheng told Growth Spotter the company wanted to offer a high-end, custom home look at an affordable price. They blended Mediterranean elements such as clay tile roofs and wood corbels with a lighter color palette and modern, glass garage doors to come up with a transitional product. They're so excited about the end result they plan to enter it in the 2017 Parade of Homes. "My project in particular is very different from any of the other projects offered," she said. "In our industry there's what we call visual fatigue – when someone looks at the same style all the time. In Florida, it’s the Tuscan Villa look, they get tired of it. A lot of our buyers come from New York, California or Europe, and they want more modern design." She said the townhomes and custom homes that builders like Phil Kean Design Group and others are doing in Winter Park are in demand, but most national homebuilders are too risk-adverse to try new design styles.
