Had a customer call with a concern of lighting issues in his kitchen and his panel being hot to the touch.n nThe issue w/ the lighting:nWhen he turned on the kitchen recessed can lighting it would drastically dim the pendant lighting.nnMost times weird issues like this arise it's an issue with the grounded conductor (aka neutral), whether it be a loose termination point, a mouse chewing the insulation, etc.nnThe results of loosing a neutral wire are catastrophic and one of the leading causes of electrical fires. This issue WILL NOT trip the circuit breaker (unless it's a specialized breaker like an AFCI). In this case the neutral terminal was loose and causing arcing within the termination point. This arcing causes MAJOR overheating. If there are any combustible materials/debris in the panel it will start a fire.nnIf the customer would have waited or thought...
