Am I required to get a permit for my fence?

Fence companies Southington, CT homeowners work with are not required to pull permits, but most other towns do require them. RSVP Fence does not pull any permits for Fencing, but we will surely help you with any questions the building and zoning offices may have. We are fully licensed in CT and insured with G.L. and W.C. Please ask for copies of our documentation if needed.

Do I need to learn where my property lines are?

Yes, you need to know exactly where your property lines are well before the installation is supposed to occur. Although RSVP Fence does not survey properties, some great free online resources are available to you in every town to find out your property lines. If you do a web search for your town's name followed by Gis, (example: Southington Gis), a link will pop up where you can input your property and find various measurements that you may use to find property lines/pins ahead of time. The Gis is not 100% accurate all the time, but it is always remarkably close. If an exact measurement needs to be taken, please contact your local surveyor long before scheduling a fence installation in Southington, CT.

Do I need to contact Call Before You Dig?

Yes, Call Before You Dig needs to be contacted, but all legal CBYD inquiries are done in advance by RSVP Fence a maximum of one month prior to getting to your jobsite so they can mark out any underground utilities. RSVP Fence is not liable for any damage done to irrigation lines, invisible dog fence wires, or any other in-ground items that Call Before You Dig did not pick up. Please make sure anything under the ground Is clearly marked and/or flagged ahead of your fence installation in Southington, CT.
