FAQs

How much work has to be done once the modules arrive on site?

This varies depending on the style of home and number of modules involved. Generally homes are between 70% to 85% complete when they reach the job site, including interior and exterior finishes, doors, windows, cabinets, electrical and plumbing fixtures, etc. They are typically crane set and weather tight in one day and then require three to six weeks for site completion by a local builder.

Can Stratford build a home to meet LEED, Energy Star, green-built or other environmental standards?

Yes, we can build a LEED-ready, Energy Star-ready or green-built-ready structure but work must be done on-site to continue adherence to these standards.

How long does it take to build a Stratford home?

Duration varies widely based on how long it takes to settle on the final design, the location, the builder and plan approvals. Generally, homes are completed within 6-12 months.

Does Stratford build manufactured homes?

Stratford does not build manufactured homes (HUD Code). All of our homes are built to the state and local building codes applicable for the home site.

Do modular homes use the same building materials as site-built homes?

Modular homes use all the same building materials as site-built homes. In fact, given the way we build, our homes contain up to 20-30% more framing material. This added material adds to the structural integrity of our homes.
