Bethesda is where our love for film started.nnThe United Artists movie theater on Wisconsin Avenue used to be our second home. In elementary school, our grandma took us to see a movie at UA every Saturday, especially R-rated films that we never told our parents about. nnIn middle school, we made friends with the UA staff who regularly waved our friends and I in to see multiple films, usually back to back.nnIf we weren't at UA, we spent hours browsing the shelves at Blockbuster on Bethesda Avenue in search of the perfect film for the night, only to leave undecided with 5 options and ultimately watched them all. nnIn high school, we joined the Black & White Newspaper, where our love for film merged into a love for journalism, and taught us how to form a creative community and lifelong friends around storytelling and art. nnAt Walt Whitman High School, we turned any assignment we could into an excuse to make a short film with our friends and neighbors.
