As some of you may know, Flanagan Enterprise has had the honor and privilege of bringing Glen Arm Station from the Ma- Pa Railroad back to life! This building was built in 1901 and I believe was in service as a railroad station until 1957. It later went on to become the Ma-Pa Whistle Stop. As you can see the building has sunk into the ground due to there being no foundation. Flanagan Enterprise went in and very strategically jacked the building up, saving as much as we possibly could the entire time. Hand dug the new foundation, and set it back down on the foundation. From there we disassembled all the heavy duty lumber that was used to jack the building up and started making her beautiful again. The 7 original window were removed and restored as well as 3 new windows and they turned out amazing! The original lumber that was on the walls in the “freight room” was removed, saved, and reinstalled on the walls. The original floor joists were removed, saved, and used to make a bar/shelf in the freight room and the waiting room. The original 1x10s that were on the walls were also refurbished into a countertop in the sandwich prepping area. A completely custom point-of- sale counter was built and turned out beautifully as well! A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into this build! We are so thankful for our guys and all their hard work, and extremely honored to be, “the guys that built the whistle stop”. We are excited to stop by and enjoy some coffee soon at “The Roast”!
