Did you know that furnace filters come in all shapes and sizes? On top of choosing the right filter for optimal performance, you should also be changing it frequently to allow for a more efficient system, less energy output, and better energy costs overall. How often do you change furnace filters for optimum performance? AAA Heating and Cooling in Portland uses NATE-Certified professionals that recommend changing most filters every three months to ensure quality performance. Whether your furnace is designed for residential or commercial use, it has a filter that regulates indoor air quality. This filter catches dirt, pollen, debris, and contaminants before they are circulated through your home, but they can quickly become dirty and clogged. Your furnace filter should be large enough to trap all particles and have a high MERV rating. The thicker the filter, the longer it will last.
