FAQs

How quickly can you start an installation?

It generally takes at least 7 to 10 days to coordinate the start of any installation, flooring or otherwise. BHI, LLC adheres completely to all laws CT small businesses are subject to; client's legal 3 day right to contract rescission, properly signed and dated contracts and permits, obtaining any necessary permits (exterior work), scheduling and expediting material(s) delivery to the job site, acclimation of material, and coordination of scheduling are all factors that can delay the start of an installation.

How long will refinishing my floor take?

It depends on several factors; size of the job, type of finish (water vs. oil), stain involved, humidity, etc. Most typical refinishing jobs will take a minimum of 3 to 5 full days, along with accommodations for dry times. On the other hand, a pre-finished floor can be installed and completed in as little as one day.

Is oil based polyurethane better than water based?

No. However, all polyurethanes (oil or water) are brand specific. We only use time tested industry leading commercial grade water base & oil base finishes. The water based polyurethanes we offer are actually significantly more durable than oil base. Yet, each brand of polyurethane finish we offer have their own pros and cons.

What are your hours of operation?

We strive to make any accommodation for scheduling estimates including evening & weekend appointments. Our crews work Monday through Saturday 8:00am to 5:00pm, or even later in certain circumstances. Night work is also available upon request.

Do you provide services other than flooring?

Yes, BHI LLC has networked and formed solid relationships with several different contractors in different trades throughout the years. BHI, LLC offers all areas of finish carpentry, construction of exterior composite and hardwood decks and also complete General Contracting; construction of 'complete' entire new room additions; including plumbing, electrical, roofing, windows, and siding.
